I’d like to make you aware of the 2010 Collaborative
Undergraduate Research in Energy (CURE) REU program* at the University of Massachusetts
Amherst. This program, designed for
graduate school-bound sophomore and junior students majoring in Chemistry,
Materials/Polymer Science, Physics, or Chemical Engineering, provides a
high-quality summer research experience focusing on the science behind
renewable energy solutions. Applications are being accepted until
February 16, 2010. Full details and an online application form are at the
CURE program website, www.chem.umass.edu/masscrest/reu.
This REU program is closely associated with an NSF Chemistry
Center, the Fueling the
Future Center for Chemical Innovation, which provides an excellent platform for
collaborative research projects in renewable energy and an excellent research
infrastructure. I encourage you to take a look at this program and pass the
information along to your best students.
Thank you,
Michael Wright
